Here's a run down of the apps I have, pre-loaded and downloaded from the app store. I tend to go for free apps.
Pre-loaded apps
Diary or Calendar app, seriously, I'd be lost without this. Anything I need to be reminded of, appointments with alarms, birthdays... go into this app
Health app my phone came with a good little Health app included. I can track my steps counter, sleep, weight and heart rate, create an exercise plan and link a smart watch to the app.
Notepad I use the notepad for listing things I want to remember. Shopping lists, books I want to read, music I've heard and want to download or buy. It's easily editable and lists can be deleted when I don't need them.
Files This app has all my files, such as images, music, videos, documents, in it. Photos can also be found in the gallery app.
Tools My tools apps are the calculator, a sound recorder, torch, an FM radio, a mirror, a compass.
Downloaded apps
Goodreads I am a big reader and this app allows me to track my progress in the book I'm currently reading, update when I start and finish a book, find books similar to my favourite genres, and connect with reader friends.
Patient Access This app allows me to book doctor apointments online and order repeat prescriptions. You do have to get an email from your surgery with a link in it and a password to set it up and it can take a few days to do so but once it's set up, its easy to use.
C25K I really want to get exercising again and the best exercise for me was running. It really was a good workout, better than going to the gym anyway. The extra weight started to fall off and I felt fitter and more toned. This app starts you off slowly, doing intervals of walking and jogging, eventually building up the time your running until you can manage to run or jog for 5 K's. I took twice as long to do the app but go at your own pace and you will get there.
Habit tracker You can add whichever habits you want to keep track of, such as waking up early, drinking water daily, cooking and eating healthy foods,
Period Tracker The app I use for this has a calendar but also symptoms tracker as well. This app can help with logging pain scores for endometriosis, fertility tracking, PCOS symptoms, whether you use contraceptives. All good things, if you're having problems with your periods and need to prove it to the doctors.
Pain Tracker I have an incurable and lifelong disease called Fibromyalgia and my symptoms can vary daily. I had to keep a paper tracker of all my symptoms for 6 months before a doctor took me seriously and referred me to a rheumatologist for diagnosis. I was being fobbed off for 25 years before I did that. I'm currently trying a pain management tracker to see how well it works but there is a specific Fibromyalgia app that looks similar but costs £2.39. The pain management app was free. If I can't get on with this one, I'll probably try the other one.
Crochet and Knit app I knit and crochet and this app allows me to track the projects I'm doing with the yarn I'm using, hook or needle size, pattern, etc so if I need to buy more yarn I can take my phone and look at the app for the make of yarn, colour code and dye lot as well as use a row counter.
I also have some social media apps, such as facebook, instagram (@yarnandteatales) Pinterest, Twitter. I've not gotten the hang of snapchat so I deleted it.
Other apps to try
Goals tracker, meditations tracker, water tracker, meal planners, cleaning tracker, alcohol units tracker, spending trackers, savings tracker, weight tracker, smoking tracker...
