The Pattern Challenge is one of Patrick's own and will be made in Irish linen. Its a men's casual, soft tailored jacket. It looks really nice but the test will be how well they make the jacket. Janet reveals she has made a bright orange linen suit for herself. The fabric choices are a bit more subtle in the sewing room. Jen and Riccardo are using the same fabric. The collar prves to be challenging for most of them. I think it's something that needs to be seen to understand. Then the sleeves are made in two pieces and you have to be careful how you sew them together or you could end up with two left sleeves.

I really liked the owl necklace Jen was wearing. It was a silver owl.
The transformation challenge involved Sun parasols and a deck chair from striped cotton ticking fabric, made in Burnley. They have to make a garment, manipulating the stripes. As always, they have 90 minutes. This challenge really makes you learn draping techniques.

As we go into the last challenge, Riccardo and Janet could be facing the chop, although Leah and Juliet are also at risk.
The made to measure challenge is to make a coat using British wool.
Jen's coat is based on a 1960's swing coat pattern and is being made in a pink Harris tweed. Riccardo is making a 1970's pattern in red and yellow Harris tweed. Juliet is making a vogue pattern in a camel wool twill, inspired by Stella McCartney. Leah is making a 60's swing coat with a peter pan collar in camel and red. Janet is making a pop art inspired London red lantern jacket with a modern twist. I really liked Leah's and Riccardo's designs.
Garment of the week is won by Riccardo's amazing coat! Riccardo has really improved over the weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing his made to measure challenges.
Sadly, Janet is going home tonight and I'll be sad to see her go. She really thought outside the box with her patterns and transformation challenges.
Next week is inspired by international challenges. I look forward to that. It looks like yoga pants and we all know how comfy they are.
