The actual cabling pattern was easy to do and after a few rows, I didn't need to keep looking at the pattern. I was a bit confused over the row count and schematics. I first crocheted up to the row count but it was not long enough, so I carried on crocheting up to the measurement of the schematics and got my friend to try it on. It still was not long enough, so I brought it home and crocheted some more and got my friend to try it on again, and guess what? It still wasn't long enough! So, again, I brought it home and crocheted even more, this time adding at least another 14 inches. It now measures at least double what the schematics say, but I'm still unsure if it will be long enough, especially after looking at the photos properly again. It doesn't look wide enough either. If I make this again, I will probably use an aran yarn and go up a hook size than what it says in the pattern and just crochet until it is double the length of the schematics.
Vicki's Sweater Pattern
I feel quite disappointed that there have been problems with all the patterns I've tried in this book. I really love the cabling designs and find them easier and neater to do in crochet than knitting. I would give this book 2 out of 5 stars.
