For Christmas, I received a couple of crafty presents. My son gave me a Crochet and Knitting Journal. I could have done with this journal a couple of years ago, when I put the purple crochet cable cardigan I am making away unfinished, because I have no memory of what size I was making or what hook I was using and now have to spend time counting and looking at the pattern and hoping I can work it out.
You can get a journal from Amazon but there are lots of variations available and free printables on other sources.
On Boxing Day, I was bored so decided to try to do the Canada Hat with Fair Isle knitting. For my first attempt, it didn't go too badly. I got a bit annoyed at having to unravel the red and white yarn after every row though. I did wind a smaller bit of the white yarn so at least it wasn't a full size ball of yarn to untwist!

I also got a set of bamboo Tunisian crochet hooks with cables and a Tunisian crochet book that I've wanted for a while. I got the digital book sent to my Kindle fire. Fair Isle Tunisian Crochet by Brenda Bourg
I want to make the cowl that is on the front cover and maybe one of the cardigans.
Today has been a challenging day. I decided to get a shower and wash my hair, which is very long. Then I decided to change my duvet cover and remake the bed with fresh clean bedding. Halfway through doing that, I had to take some food my son had delivered for his tea, to him at work. The car was frozen and needed to be defrosted and the front left tyre needed pumping up again before I could go. I have had the tyre fixed but it obviously hasn't worked because it keeps going down again. I had nice new clean warm dry socks on and by the time I got home, my nice clean dry socks were cold and damp because I was wearing my slippers. I got home and washed my hands then finished making the bed, while trying to dodge the cat off the bed. What should have taken 20 minutes took nearly double that. Everything I've tried to do couldn't be done until I'd done 3 jobs to get the one job. Blasted Cats! Love them though so I don't mind. So now. it's nearly 11pm and there is a film I want to watch, so I guess I'll count the stitches of the purple cardigan tomorrow!
