Christmas Makes
Yes, I'm already thinking of Christmas. I have a selection of things to make such as slippers, winter headbands, beaded bracelets and Christmas tree decorations!
I've been to look around the local charity shops to source new teapots today. I found two teapots and one hot chocolate pot. You just know I'm going to turn the hot chocolate pot into a giant hot chocolate with swirls of cream and mini marshmallows. The brown teapot will hopefully be turned into a hedgehog and the other one may well end up a fairy house! I've seen some amazing patterns on Pinterest but all of my teapots are unique as I make the pattern up as I go along so it fits the teapot. I also found some little charms and beads in a charity shop which I intend to add to my makes in some way. They are little owls, westie dogs, filigree hearts colourful flower beads. The hunt for more teapots continues while I'm also making other things such as pocket tissue pouches, doggie bow ties, covered notebooks and bunting. Did you know I make bunting to order? I emptied the multiple jars of buttons I have and managed to squeeze them all into one large jar instead of them being in 5 jars with ribbons and roses! I like to add the different buttons to teapots and hoop art to make them something special and different.

I love to make my unique handmade gifts that I sell through Katy's Cupboard on Chestergate in Macclesfield. Each item is made organically. I often don't know how the teapot cosies are going to look until it's finished although some teapots beg to be turned into a flower garden or strawberry sundae. You can see more of my creations on the Hanmade Gifts by Cornovii Crafts here. I'm currently working on a vintage coffee pot decorated with apples so of course the cosy has to have an apple theme. Whether it turns into an apple pie or an orchard is another matter that hasn't been finalised yet! I also find it a complete thrill that someone likes my work that they buy it and it is being used in someone else's house! Thank you for buying my crazy creations! Here is a photo of the dress I made for the Invasion Macclesfield Exhibition by Simon Brown on display at the Snow Goose on Sunderland Street. The fabric was sourced from ArtSpace and the costume was used in a few photos of the alien queen, which you can see on the walls as part of the exhibition.
I am available to make a dress for a special occasion, so please give me a call to arrange a consultation |
