Last night was the first night of 2016's Sewing Bee. There are six of us who attend regularly and we share the room with a lace makers group. In the photo above are Norma and Josie who have been sewing for several years and are a font of knowledge.
Also in the our group are Barbara and Jean, who were doing knitting and repairing a pair of boot toppers!
Barbara usually has some sewing going on every week so it was unusual for her to be knitting. Jean brings her mum, June, who gives advice on sewing as she used to make all of her own clothes for herself and her children, as well as soft furnishings.
We always stop for break and some tea and homemade cake. Yesterday Barbara made yummy chocolate cakes with melted Rolo's hidden inside and mini mince pies.
Sewing Bee is open to all ages and abilities of sewists and we meet at Prestbury Methodist Church Hall on Thursday evenings, 7-9pm. We look forward to you joining us!
